Hummingbird Cross Stitch Finsihed

Well I finally finished the hummingbird! I told my husband that I would be done by Thanksgiving and I actually finished before that! I can't wait to give this to my gram, she has been waiting about five years for me to finish it.
Have a great day!

Coffee/Tea cozy

My first attempt at making a coffee cozy. I have seen so many wonderful patterns online but I can not follow a pattern to save my life. So instead of using a pattern I just crochet enough rows to go around my coffee cup with enough room for the handle, then I crochet a loop in the middle of one side and a button on the opposite side.
I figured if my coffee cup could have a cozy then my travel mug should have one too. For this one I just crochet enough rows to go all the way around the travel mug and then crochet up the side to close it. Then I attempted my first ever crochet flower.
This one I tried a different stitch from the purple one, and I like how this one came out much better. I connected the two sides at the bottom with a single row of and then crochet a loop at the top and sewed a button onto the other side.
These are pretty addicting and I hope to make many more for the holidays to give to family. Have a great day!

Thanksgiving bow.

Here's the bow my little turkey is going to wear this Thanksgiving. I made a few for her Girl Scout troop last year and I'm going to make a few more since my friends have been having little girls lately. =) I'm going to be so sad when the day comes that she doesn't want to wear bows in her hair. They grow up too fast! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dustin Pike Anything Christmas Challenge

It's almost time to start my Christmas Baking! I use the same recipes every year and they are all from my Gram and Mum. I fit a few of them in the cute little recipe book I made for the Dustin Pike Anything Christmas challenge this week. I'm making another one from the rest of my family cookie recipes. I love how the gingerbread digi worked out perfectly for this one! I think I need to coat them with something so that they won't get yucky while baking next month. =)

The DS file that I used for the flower came from Capadia Designs and can be found on her awesome blog here

This weeks challenge from Dustin Pike can be found here.

Two of the digi sentiments were found here at Create with TLC. Lots of wonderful freebies here! =)

Thursday's Catch The Bug Challenge

Today's project was to make anything that has to do with snow. I love the little penguin with his arms full of snowballs, I just knew that I had to use him for this project. I sure am getting my Christmas cards done early thanks to this challenge!

Here is my card for today's challenge:

Catch The Bug Challenge Thursday: Snow Business, any project with Snow!

I almost didn't get my card done for today's challenge because we went to Denali yesterday and didn't get home until really late. But it was so worth it since Mt. McKinley was out in full view for us all day! It was a wonderful day and I somehow did manage to get my card done. =)

Have a wonderful day!
