Thanksgiving bow.

Here's the bow my little turkey is going to wear this Thanksgiving. I made a few for her Girl Scout troop last year and I'm going to make a few more since my friends have been having little girls lately. =) I'm going to be so sad when the day comes that she doesn't want to wear bows in her hair. They grow up too fast! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dustin Pike Anything Christmas Challenge

It's almost time to start my Christmas Baking! I use the same recipes every year and they are all from my Gram and Mum. I fit a few of them in the cute little recipe book I made for the Dustin Pike Anything Christmas challenge this week. I'm making another one from the rest of my family cookie recipes. I love how the gingerbread digi worked out perfectly for this one! I think I need to coat them with something so that they won't get yucky while baking next month. =)

The DS file that I used for the flower came from Capadia Designs and can be found on her awesome blog here

This weeks challenge from Dustin Pike can be found here.

Two of the digi sentiments were found here at Create with TLC. Lots of wonderful freebies here! =)

Thursday's Catch The Bug Challenge

Today's project was to make anything that has to do with snow. I love the little penguin with his arms full of snowballs, I just knew that I had to use him for this project. I sure am getting my Christmas cards done early thanks to this challenge!

Here is my card for today's challenge:

Catch The Bug Challenge Thursday: Snow Business, any project with Snow!

I almost didn't get my card done for today's challenge because we went to Denali yesterday and didn't get home until really late. But it was so worth it since Mt. McKinley was out in full view for us all day! It was a wonderful day and I somehow did manage to get my card done. =)

Have a wonderful day!

Dustin Pike Challenge - Hot and Bothered

This week the challenge was to create something summer themed, wet and wild or sun filled. I don't think there is anything that says summer more than fishing! =) I used Bic Mark It pens to color the images. I haven't really used them before and I think they did an OK job. =) You can find the challenge here along with all of Dustin's awesome digi stamps for sale and a few freebies too!

Har Repotter: the chosen one

I can't believe July 15th is next week! I can't wait to get together with good friends and enjoy the end of an awesome series! The Harry Potter movies by far have to be my favorite of all time! I love the Har Repotter stamps from Bugaboo, they are just so darn cute! I used The chosen one to make my card for this weeks challenges, I used Prismacolor pencils to color him in and paper that I had on-hand to finish it off with.

Lemon & Lavender

I love this little fairy from Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I think she looks so cute in yellow and purple. I made this little card for two challenges. Here are the links to both of them:

Simon Says Stamps use LAVENDER & LEMON

Peachy Keen Stamps use this sketch

This was my first Simon Says challenge and my second Peachy Keen. I thought it would be easy to make a card when you follow easy direction such as use yellow and purple and follow the sketch provided. It was a lot harder than I thought and took me a few days to come up with the final card. I like the way it turned out though. =)

Have a great day!

Hummingbird card

I've seen many beautiful cards made using a brayer for the inked background. I thought I would give it a shot since it doesn't look that hard...boy was I wrong! I had a heck of a time getting the background for this card! I defiantly need more practice but I think that it turned out great for my first try. =) I used white ink first to stamp the images and then went over them with black ink. It gives a shadow and I think it makes the hummingbirds wings look like they're moving. I used the Stampin up! Dream A Little stamp set.

Have a great day!

BugWW#7

I joined PCP a while ago but never figured it out or really did anything with it, until this challenge popped up. I just hope that I uploaded everything the right way. I love this little girl and swing from Bugaboo! She is just so darn cute! I cut her out and just added her onto the swing. I have never tried to make this type of card before but it was really easy, I found the directions here. I just used paper that I had on hand and colored her with prismacolors 946, 945, 941, 929, 913, and 903. I blended the colors with goo gone.

You can find the challenge here at Bugaboo Wacky Wednesday #7.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Summer in Alaska

This is what it looks like at 3:41 in the morning!

The first one is out the back door and the second is across the street from the front of our house.

One thing that I love about living here is all of the sunshine! It sure makes up for the -40 in the winter!

Card for my little sister

My sister and I live at opposite ends of the USA and I miss her dearly! I made her this yesterday and I hope she likes it. She is my best friend and I wish that we lived closer!

I found the sentiment at Create with TLC, they have a saying for just about anything you could ever imagine!

4th of July card

I just love the 4th of July! I love how families seem to all gather together for a BBQ or picnic and just spend time together. I adore this little turtle and I think I might make a few more blank ones to send to Operation Write Home. Being from a military family I think what they are doing is great!

I just used paper that I already had on hand and bought this cute little turtle from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, they have lots of little turtles for different holidays. I colored the little guy with prismacolors 901, 902, 908, 911 & 924 and then blended the colors with goo gone.

I entered this card in two challenges which you can find here:

Mail

I love Greeting Farm stamps! I just got these in the mail and already have used the teacher anya to make CJ's teacher a card. I love these images! Can't wait to play with the rest of them this weekend!

Dustin Pike Red, White & Blue challenge!

My little one said that the bird looks like Blue from Rio after I colored him. =) I decided to make a card to send my gram telling her that I miss her. I missed a few of the Dustin Pike challenges and it's nice to get back into the swing of things. Have a great day!

Teacher Anya card

CJ had the most wonderful teacher for the last two years, we were so sad to see her go. We made her a scrapbook of the class and this card to let her know how much she will be missed.

Father's Day

Father's Day cards made with Riley images. My dad and father in law both like to fish so I thought this was perfect! =)
